流光浮樹影,微風拂日常:在花園裡鑲嵌一座涼亭住家,Baan Klai Wat

後現代主義興起以來,單調、固定的意義再也無法解釋或滿足當代心靈,當無窮思索跨越了時空以建築的形式落成,遮風蔽雨有時甚至成了最輕描淡寫的特質,能否在無形中濺起繞梁的機鋒,才是建築讓人著迷的關鍵。

好比位於泰國佛統府的「Baan Klai Wat」,如同一幢問句砌成的詩,不斷探究「存在的狀態」:這裡有房間嗎?內與外的界線在哪裡?牆為包圍空間而設,抑或將空間隔絕在外?置身其間,何者是感官優先理解的「體」,何者又是預設的背景「地」?生活的格局在哪裡止步,景觀又從何萌芽?關於這些疑問,負責操刀的建築事務所 Physicalist,在設計上刻意不下定論,首先便藉住宅命名引人一窺玄機。

「Baan Klai Wat」意指「靠近寺廟的家」,屋主夫婦長期定居海外,而其父母固定在每週日早晨參拜一座佛寺,多年前屋主亦曾在這寺廟中短暫受戒為僧,這別具意義的緣分與信仰便在家族中傳承下來。因此,屋主希望在佛寺附近替父母打造一間舒適的家,便於他們能每日輕鬆散步往返,同時也作為屋主夫婦返鄉時的度假居所——一片自忙碌工作中抽離、獲得精神洗禮的慰藉之地。

建築團隊依循著屋主對日文「木漏れ日」(Komorebi,意指「自樹葉縫隙灑落的日光」)意境的嚮往,在種種互為表裡的性質間跳躍得輕盈,探索著建築和空間、身體和精神、具象和抽象之間的關係。畢竟,流動的季風,濕潤的熱帶氣息,或是隨風浮動的枝葉光影,這些難以捉摸的存在循環往復於生活與生命,反而遠比一座氣派宏偉的廳堂更不朽。

整體輪廓方正的 Baan Klai Wat,以露天花園為中心開展,門廊內一池水塘映照著樹影,客廳、餐廳與廚房連結而成的起居間,隔著繁茂花草與父母睡房相望,連接兩側的多功能空間則被用作冥想禪修區。

建築團隊靈活地從「留白」鋪展思路,打破傳統形式的建築結構,在最大限度內抹除牆面,每個空間或以落地玻璃門窗取代,或以開敞的廊道連結,僅留角落的四個量體;而這四處具「實體」部分的轉角,亦設有小巧的「口袋」庭院,也讓軒朗的空間更加融入周遭地形。

在搖搖曳曳的白紗簾間,午後的光與風乘著葉隙溜進書房,琢磨一會書頁上的詞句,又忍不住起身到花園閱讀枝葉的紋理。當目光隨腳步在「體」與「景」之間游移,感官便被賦予一種「身在花園,而非屋內」的微妙感受,宛如入住一座花園裡的庭軒或涼亭。

二樓東西兩翼各座落著主臥與客房,坐擁著一樓中央花園的蒼翠,落地窗外包覆著特製的波紋金屬板門——相較於一樓以廊道拿捏著開放與隱私的平衡,二樓的金屬板門與門框則留有精巧計算的縫隙,即使全數關上,光線依舊能照射入室,也能自由引入清透的氣流,讓室內隨時保有自然光與通風。

無論是平面的調度,或四方延展的門戶,Baan Klai Wat 每一面的開闔取捨,都只為了與無限風光相依。環繞中央庭院而生的奇異布局,消弭掉建築固有的「景」、「居」劃分,形塑出「亦此亦彼」的獨特狀態。在此,人與大自然共創的豐富現象生滅不歇,空間彼此的關聯既構成建築,建築量體的「缺席」也成就「空無」,而生活的奧義就在其間輕柔流動,互為因果。
